EMBODIED LEARNING
Embodied learning is experiential research for the self. It is a way of immersing the self into the moment to attune to the environment, and harmonize. Being in the moment provides experiential learning opportunities that enhance presence and authenticity. The very nature of embodiment calls one to enter into self reflection and contemplative reasoning. The key to embodied learning is the process of experimentation and differentiation that occurs through inner listening to the body, mind, and the senses. It is an invitation to become ever present, and immersed in life by observing the nature of ourselves, and our response patterns.
I practice and teach others to listen to the subtle responses of their body, emotions, and mental patterns during movement, as well as in everyday life experiences. I teach a deep inner listening skill of drawing one’s attention to the senses in order to gather insight and center the self with an embodied presence. I believe embodiment is personal and contextual. True embodiment has a distinct look, sound, and feeling that is unique to the individual, and the moment. A life long practice of embodied learning encourages self reflection, and self cultivation. Embodied living can transform, enhance, and empower the self into an optimal state of being human.
